Stints

Your time spent on-call.

A stint is a shift from the schedule spent on-call. Hotpot looks at stints as a social construct wherein one or more people are responsible for the duties of on-call, after which time a triage and handoff occur.

Stints are defined by the schedule and you can use coverage to adapt to any life events that come up.

Stints and people

Schedules define a hierarchy of folks who share the responsibility of on-call tasks. Hotpot considers the primary on-calls the "owners" of the social aspects of a stint. It is they who typically triage and handoff to the next group.

Note we used plural above. Hotpot is 100% ok with having more than one person on-call at a time. This could be due to in-stint changes from coverage or from having two primaries or a shadow.
