How to get started with Hotpot.

Welcome! We're glad you're here. This document will supplement the in-application onboarding tasks and get you and your organization rolling with Hotpot.

Signing up

At the time of this writing, Hotpot is in private beta. You'll be provisioned and invited via an email from us, which should provide you with a link to sign in.

Signing in

Hotpot supports password-based logins and SSO solutions like Google and Okta. If you're the first user, you should know which your organization is planning to use. Use that or contact us if you're having issues.

Onboarding tasks

After you sign in, Hotpot will immediately prompt you with onboarding tasks via a button in the header. Click this button and work through the onboarding tasks. This usually takes only a few minutes to complete.

Want to invite your teammates?

Great! You can create a team first or click the Users tab at the top of Hotpot, then click the "Invite user" button at the top right. Each user you invite will receive an email with a unique code allowing them to join your organization and set their password.

Making your first team

Teams in Hotpot mirror the teams you work with at your company. If you're a wee startup with no formal teams, enter whatever name best suits you. Many folks start with "Engineering" or the like.

Inviting teammates

With a team made, you're ready to invite your teammates. You will be prompted to do this as part of making your team, but you may also invite new users at any time, as described above. Note that when you create the invitation you my preselect the teams that the user will be added to!
