Handoffs
Hotpot and Handoffs
When an on-call stint is over Hotpot facilitates the team getting together and discussing the just-ended stint.
Triaging
Hotpot encourages you to triage regularly. You don't have to be a completionist, but every moment you provide context on helps Hotpot (and you) paint a better picture of your stint.
Preparing a Handoff
As your stint nears an end, Hotpot will reach out and ask you to review your work for the week and the groups you created during triage.
Reviewing your groups
Hotpot gives you a chance to triage any remaining moments, if you like!
You begin by looking over the groups you made during the stint. You can leave notes for yourself and the team, as well as choosing a group size. These are similar to t-shirt sizes and are meant to capture how much these moments impacted your attention. A big incident may've ruined your whole day, but some noisy alerts might've just annoyed you for a few minutes. Choose accordingly.
Rating your experience
Hotpot is inspired by our personal experiences as well as lots of research. The questions are currently in development and will likely change, but in the meantime they are a great talking point for you and your team!
Handoff
With preparation complete, you're ready for your team's handoff. This part is up to your team, but Hotpot guides you with:
An overview of the stint and the moments therein
A review of the groups created during triage
A final handoff screen with the incoming on-call's information
