2025-04-30 Smarter scheduling and clearer triage

This release brings significant improvements to schedule management and triage workflows. We've enhanced notification controls, added helpful visual cues throughout, and streamlined coverage selection to make things more ergonomic!

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Schedule improvementsโ€‹

Configuring the behavior of notifications by urgency has been improved. You can now control the behavior of iOS notifications and see the behavior of escalations.

๐Ÿ›Ÿ Improved coverage selectionโ€‹

When someone needs on-call coverage, Hotpot provides context on the best person to take over on-call responsibilities. We've improved the ergonomics and fixed some bugs so it's easier to pick the ideal person.

Hints for choosing a user for coverage

Additionally:

  • Any schedules needing attention now have a visual indicator in the schedule's minical as well as an entry in the "Availability and issues" section.
  • Shift shadows are now displayed in the schedule calendar.
  • Viewing a team now shows every user who has been involved in any stage for the whole shift, and the pages they handled are now clickable.
  • After entering availability users are now directed to the relevant month of their calendar.

  • API: Improved resilience for the paging endpoint with unexpected input
  • Availability: The calendar view of availability now has improved clickable areas on each day.
  • Calendar: We like you, but we removed our support email as the organizer so we don't get a copy of every change you make if you mess with the calendar entries.
  • General: Markdown rendering will no longer italicize mid-word underscores.
  • General: Performance improvements have been made across the app, mostly in page loading times.
  • Integration: Improved UX for Slack setup.
  • Slack: Improved validation of new moments.
  • Users: The display of deleted users has been improved across the board.
  • UI: The contrast of disabled checkboxes has been improved in darkmode.
