We've significantly revamped schedule management and onboarding in this release, making it easier to set up your first schedule and more obvious how to manage it going forward.
Schedule management has been completely revamped with new tabs that separate Smart Scheduler and Notification configuration options. This makes scheduler management much more intuitive and fixes usability issues with saving your schedule.
We've also updated the messages shown when adjusting schedule settings so it's more obvious when and how changes take effect.
It's now easier to set up your initial schedule because Hotpot allows any user to be added.
If any user in the schedule hasn't yet accepted their invite or added contact information we flag it in the UI.
Periods of time spent on-call — weeks, for most folks — are now called shifts. This replaces the word stint that Hotpot previously used. We really appreciate all the feedback on this as we find the best words for our concepts!
We've also begun phasing out the slug-based names (e.g. API-OPERATIONS-2511.1) used on some screens in favor of simpler, date-based names.
We're not done, here are even more scheduler goodies:
Onboarding guidance has improved by suggesting next steps for additional users and enabling your schedule with calls to action.
Recently ended shifts now prompt for prepare or handoff. Older shifts are ignored, as it is assumed those don't need a handoff.
Backend: Security updates to backend dependencies.
Pages: Subtle adjustment of the sidebar rendered when viewing a page from a list.
Scheduling: Attempting to remove the user set as a schedule's backstop now links you to the right place.
UI: Keyboard interactivity of entity selection control used for selecting people to page, tags, etc. has been improved.
UI: The button for removing a user from a team has been made into an actual button.
