Most of us coordinate on Slack to work, and being on-call is no different. To make this easier, Hotpot allows you to address that team's on-call with a handy alias.
When the schedule changes, Hotpot updates Slack so you don't have to worry about who is on-call now. You can just ping them with quick questions or notes.
In other Slack news, daily forecast message grammar has improved, and the resilience of our Slack integration has improved.
Groups created during triage are adjusted, reviewed, and discussed during the handoff process. We've made these views more consistent, mirroring the layout you're used to from triage:
We've also landed several bug fixes for bulk moment manipulation.
Our recent improvements to the stint view left the buttons feeling a bit imbalanced. We've moved them!
While we were here, we improved the contrast of many dark-mode colors used on this page.
In our last release — and in coming releases — we're investing in some changes to the Hotpot's performance through improvements to its styling mechanisms. Many parts of Hotpot dynamically decide their color, icons, and the like. Our original approach was memory intensive, and our new approach is faster, uses less memory, and is more standardized. It will take a bit, but each release shaves page load times!
In this release, we advanced our refactoring to cover many "edge cases" in the styling system. Now, fixing the other cases is easier!
Other styling changes:
Continued improvements to contrast in dark mode.
Datadog: Hotpot now keeps webhooks updated for teams.
Prometheus: Hello, welcome Prometheus to the party. We added it!
Sentry: The Sentry integration can now be configured to ignore user feedback events.
Backend: Improved our ability to debug API calls with bad API keys.
Coverage: Link to show missing users works correctly in coverage screen.
Email: Date formatting and time zone selection in email notifications have been improved.
Email: Stint email notifications more accurately describe who was on-call.
General: Dependency updates for security fixes (none impacting us, but we wanna be safe!)
Onboarding: Improved grammar.
